First things first, I see that I've come up in Bob Norman's world.
The comment "all around political hack" is one of the nicest things he's said in quite a while, so coming from him, it's a complement.
I've been reading the Grand Jury report like most folks that can understand complex sentences, and I'm willing to bet that the majority of the blog posters on the Pulp's site can't get beyond the opening statement.
Like it or not, Bob, I've been on both sides of the dais and I can give a much more accurate picture of both events and the commentary (and yes, most of it is commentary) contained in the "report."
Don't misunderstand me, because there are a number of serious issues contained within that absolutely need to be addressed.
Only a fool would say no.
Here's the problem:
In a professional world, normal people would expect a document with a title of "Grand Jury Report" to be a finding of fact along with recommendations based on those facts.
This report reads more like the opinion of somebody with a gripe.
Almost as if it were written by Bob Norman himself.
The "abolish the School Board" statement is absolute proof that it reads more like a vendetta than an honest to goodness criticism.
I guess that the fact the voters have elected five new School Board members in the past two years (a majority in my count) somehow escaped the writer's notice, especially since these new members rode in on the wave of revelations and criticism.
It's difficult enough to seperate truth from speculation and outright misinformation and this "report" seals it.
Yup, it's a vendetta document alright, pumped chock full of innuendo and smears by the new media.
Stay with me over the next series of articles and I will make the case.
